Spotify - all the music you could possibly want, and for free

SpotifySpotify, a free easy to use music service, pretty much makes illegal downloading a thing of the past. I’ve used it to find obscurities that I couldn’t dream of being able to buy in physical (or digital) form. Needless to say it’s not in hi fi quality, but what can you expect on your computer anyway? It’s pretty much become the default way for people in my drop-in jazz workshop to find recordings of the tunes we’re trying to learn. Believe me, they’re not early adopter technology buffs…it really is easy to use.

The only downside is that you have to endure a short advert every 20 minutes or so. You can shell out a little more to bin the ads, but they really don’t bother me.

I’ve actually got a couple of albums on here, and I have no idea how (or if) I’ll ever make money out of them, but as a punter I find it very hard to fault. It also remains to be seen how (or if) Spotify themselves will ever make any money (they’re currently running at a loss). Who knows, but in the meantime I suggest you enjoy it.
