Hellhound on its trail

Came across this strange beast (and forgive the indistinct photo) at Wunja guitars in Denmark Street, London. It’s a 1929 Gibson L1 (priced at £2195). I’ve never seen (let along played) one of these. Perhaps most famous for its association with Robert Johnson, the guitar felt nice, but a little unusual. It’s got a really wide neck (which I generally like) and body dimensions which seem to put it somewhere in between being a OOO and an archtop. I suppose it’s a bit of a ‘transition’ guitar before either solid tops or archtops developed their own character.
As is said, nice…but not worth 2K to me.
