Mike 300's Yamaha classical guitar has been around the world

“This is the very first guitar I got when I was knee high to a small thing and just learning. It’s pretty basic and was second-hand. It’s a very standard Yamaha nylon string guitar. I had wanted to play for a long time and when I got my parents to agree the deal was that I got classical guitar lessons for a little while… so I got a classical guitar. “The pickup is an ‘adaptatrap special’ which is a £25 bug in a beercap pickup. The soundhole is covered up so that it doesn’t make horrible feedback sounds when it’s plugged in…and it doesn’t impede the natural sound too much.
“When I was in my punk rock phase this spent 15 years in a cupboard gathering dust, but I’m really enjoying playing acoustically now.
“It’s been half way around the world with me. I’ve taken it to New Zealand, Australia, Thailand and all sorts of places. The Thai on the back means “Peace Rock”….it’s my Peace Rock guitar. Mike 300 is there because the hostel was 300 baht a night, so they wrote down “Mike 300” and someone thought it was my name. “
